I’m really confused where you stand on the matter now.
There are good stories and there are bad stories, and both can be used to shed light on the issue from either side. You’re telling me I shouldn’t shit on arranged marriage because a couple of people’s mothers learned to love their fathers…awesome. I’m more interested in the implications of this cultural tool, which is used to perpetuate a patriarchy within those societies. But the OP apparently doesn’t need saving from my Western ass, so who am I to speak?

The matter here isn’t about love, it’s about personal freedom and LIBERTY. Arranged marriages are incompatible with these ideals and are thus OBJECTIVELY WRONG. Coercing or forcing someone into a contract or arrangement is the epitome of denying personal freedoms that should be enjoyed by every human.
